The hot stone massage combines your therapist's hands with the warmth of smooth stones, first placed on the body, then used to massage. The warmth helps the muscles let go and makes the massage especially enveloping.

The treatment takes an hour and costs 600 MAD, with free travel across the whole Marrakech area. Your therapist comes to your riad, villa or hotel room, and you pay after the treatment.

How the treatment works

Set-up
While the stones warm up, your therapist sets up the table and asks about tense areas and the pressure you like.

Stones placed
Hot stones are placed on certain areas, along the back for example, to spread their warmth.

Stone massage
The hot stones glide over the muscles with massage oil, alternating with the hands, to ease tension.

Slow finish
The treatment ends gently. Take your time getting up and drink a glass of water.

Why warmth relaxes

Warmth helps muscles let go: that is why a hot bath feels so good after a long day. With hot stones, it spreads over the back, shoulders or legs while your therapist massages.

The pressure stays pleasant: this massage is about relaxation, not effort. For firmer muscle work, choose the sports massage.

Hot stones or relaxing massage?

The relaxing Berber massage (60 min, 450 MAD) uses argan oil and the hands alone. The hot stone massage (60 min, 600 MAD) adds the warmth of the stones, for deeper, more enveloping relaxation.

Warm, never burning

The stones should feel pleasantly warm, never burning. If a stone feels too hot, say so straight away: your therapist removes it at once.

Precautions

During pregnancy, choose our pregnancy massage: the heat of the stones is not advised.
Diabetes, circulation problems, varicose veins, a heart condition or high blood pressure: ask your doctor before booking.
No hot stones on sunburn, irritated skin, a wound or a swollen area.
Tell your therapist immediately if anything feels like it burns.
